New Students

Is this you?

You are either a high school graduate/GED recipient or about to graduate, or you attended another college and are transferring to OCC, or you’re a previous OCC student who hasn’t taken classes at OCC in three years or you’re an adult student and want to take credit courses, if so read on.

Getting admitted and registering as a new student is easy!

Step 1:

Obtain an OCC Application for Admission online, or from your high school counseling office or from any of the college admission offices. Admission offices.

Step 2:

Fill out the application completely, sign it and include a copy of your driver’s license, state ID, voter’s registration card, current property tax receipt or current rent receipt so that your residency status can be determined and then return this material to any OCC admissions office. Admission offices. Current high school students should return the forms to their high school counselor who will mail them to the college.

Step 3:

If the program you wish to enter requires transcripts (see college catalog) have them sent to the OCC admissions office. If you are a college transfer student have your transcripts mailed to:

Step 4:

Apply for financial aid. Even though there is a wide variety of financial aid available at the college you should apply as early as possible. You can get started by:

Take any required assessment tests for placement purposes. Click for more information on placement tests.

Step 6:

Meet with an OCC counselor for advising, if necessary. Here are the OCC Counseling addresses and phone numbers.

Step 7:

Register and pay for your classes. Information on specific classes with times, days, location and instructor as well as tuition and fees is available in the schedule of classes. Information, which describes the course content and curriculum of the college, is available in the college catalog.
