These databases are good starting points for finding articles on any subject.

Academic OneFile (InfoTrac) 1980 - present. Most comprehensive academic database.  Many are peer-reviewed, full-text articles from journals and reference sources, covering the physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature and other subjects.  Articles can be translated into 11 languages.    Courtesy of the Michigan eLibrary.

Academic Search Elite (EBSCOhost) 1980s - present. Full-text, abstracts, or indexing for mostly scholarly periodicals.  This multi-disciplinary database covers virtually every area of academic study.

CQ Global Researcher 1991 - present.  Full-text articles from CQ Researcher, a collection of reports and analysis on global issues in the news.  Each topic has an introductory overview, background and chronology, a current assessment, tables and maps, pro/con statements from opposing positions, and a list of key sources.

OmniFile Full Text Select (formerly WilsonSelectPlus) Courtesy of the Michigan eLibrary. (WilsonWeb) 1994 - present.  All articles have full-text. Includes U.S. and international professional publications, academic journals, and trade magazines on a wide variety of subjects.

Points of View (EBSCOhost) Full-text generally 1990s - present.  Essays on topics in the news.  Each has an overview, point (argument), and counterpoint (opposing argument), supported with articles from periodicals, media transcripts, primary source documents, and videos.

Regional Business News (EBSCOhost) Generally, 1993 - present.  Provides full-text coverage of business journals, newspapers, and newswires from all metropolitan and rural areas within the United States.

Stat-USA: Globus & National Trade Data BankGlobal Business Opportunities features trade and government procurement opportunities while the National Trade Data Bank offers current and historical trade-related data, country and market research reports, country analysis and a library of international trade documents.

Stat-USA: State of the Nation Current and historical federal economic and financial data. Provides various financial and economic data from throughout the federal government, concentrating on the U.S. economy.

Value Line Investment Reports Full-page reports and analyst commentaries on stocks covered by The Value Line Investment Survey Standard Edition

SIRS Renaissance(ProQuest) 1983 - present. World Almanac(FirstSearch) 1998 - present. Offers a fundamental reference source that includes biographies, encyclopedia entries, facts and statistics.

WorldCat(FirstSearch) Extensive catalog of books and other materials in libraries in the Detroit metro area and worldwide. Links to records of libraries owning the materials and indicates their availability.
