Information Literacy: The Library/Classroom Partnership

What is an information literate student?

According to the Association of College and Research Libraries students are information literate when they are able to "recognize when information is needed and have the ability to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information."

OCC Library Faculty’s focus on information literacy is a great match with classroom activities.

Let us partner with you to ensure that students in your classes meet the Information Literacy General Education Outcome:

Graduates will be able to use information ethically and legally, and identify, explore, analyze and apply appropriate information resources to a specific task.

We’ll work with you to design targeted library instruction and information literacy assignments.
