Standard Documents

This page provides access to documents (forms and examples) used by the Paralegal Program in some of its classes. These documents ARE NOT for use in actual court or administrative proceedings. The paralegal program believes these documents are of general use in all our classes. Specific classes may use other forms which will be distributed electronically or physically to the students.

Technical Notes: Microsoft Word documents are in Word 2003 format for compatibility with the widest range of word processing programs. If you do not have a compatible word processing program, we suggest you download the free Open Office suite. PDF documents require the free Adobe Acrobat reader to view or complete the forms. Registered students may obtain technical support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year through student technical support.

Standard Document List:

--Standard Case Caption: Standard Michigan Caption, which Includes Pleading Paper.
--Standard Order Introduction: Standard text inserted following the caption and the order title.
--Standard 7 Day Order Notice: Text of notice for entry of an order under MCR 2.603(B)(3).
--Proof of Service Document Stamp: Text of Proof of Service stamped to a pleading.
--Time Sheet: Standard time billing sheet used in the program.
--Michigan SCAO Court Forms: A link to PDF format SCAO court forms.

Students: Remember that all court documents must comply with the Michigan Court Rules, and if the documents are filed electronically, they must comply with the EDMI Electronic Filing Policies and Procedures unless these rules would conflict, then the MCR shall prevail.
