Created on a computer
and either e-mailed to prospective employers, or submitted via an
interactive form on a company web site.
Points
to Remember:
- You often must have
an e-résumé
to apply for jobs online.
- Most major companies
accept them via e-mail.
- If completing a
company form online, take your time and carefully enter information,
completing ALL required fields. Proofread before submitting.
- Write in
simple plain
text (ASCII) unless employer requests otherwise.
- Many companies
scan e-résumé
with tracking or keyword software. Keywords are terms
describing your education, skills, and experience. Create a dedicated
keyword section, or use keywords throughout your e-résumé.
- Once your résumé
has
been formatted digitally and saved, it can be tailored to fit any
future employment opportunities.
