Oakland Community College’s Student LIFE, in
partnership with OCC Economic and Workforce Development and the City of
Farmington Hills’ Youth and Family Services Division, will present a Community
Resource Fair at the Orchard Ridge Campus in Farmington Hills, Saturday,
November 14.
The event will take place in the campus’
gymnasium (Building H) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free and the public
is invited.
Representatives
from 45 governmental and private organizations will be on hand to discuss
topics such as:

First-time
home buying, foreclosure, weatherization and utility assistance.
·
Grants,
scholarships and financial aid opportunities.
·
Upcoming
job fairs, job openings, job training, resume preparation and unemployment
benefit opportunities.
·
Programs
for youths and families, women, seniors, food assistance, and more.
·
Social
Security, retirement, disability, Medicare and Supplemental Security Income.
·
MiChild,
Medicaid, Children’s Special Health Care Services, low-cost dental referrals
and H1N1 prevention.
·
Tax
preparation assistance, entrepreneurship and financial information.
·
Legal
assistance, and more.
In addition, free health screenings will be
presented by OCC’s Mobile Nurse Clinic, and special promotional offers will be
provided by Bank of America.

The Orchard Ridge Campus is located at 27055
Orchard Lake Road, just south of I-696. Free parking is available in nearby campus
lots, and a free shuttle service will convey visitors from the parking lots to
H Building.
