The ACCESS program provides a network of support services for special population students. These students include: students with
disabilities, students whose English is their second language, academically disadvantaged students (below a 2.0 GPA), students who are
single parents, teen parents, displaced homemakers and students who are enrolled in non-traditional training programs of study for their

Students with disabilities are supported through ACCESS accommodations including but not limited to: sign language interpreters, note
takers, alternative testing arrangements, specialized equipment, tutoring and counseling.
Services are provided through ACCESS to students whose English is their second language and students who are academically disadvantaged
with tutoring and academic/career counseling
Supplemental Assistance is available to all eligible ACCESS students including: single parents, non-traditional students, and students
with disabilities. Assistance includes: tuition, books and supplies and other support services for students whose goal is to obtain job
skills in an approved occupational educational program.
ALL students requesting ACCESS accommodations/support services MUST meet eligibility guidelines. ACCESS offices are located on every
campus. For more information, contact your campus ACCESS office.

Veterans Benefits Recipients
All veterans wishing to take advantage of Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits should complete admission and
registration forms in consultation with the VA representative located at the Auburn Hills Campus. OCC does not participate in the VA
Advance Payment Program. Therefore, all VA recipients are responsible for the payment of tuition and fee charges.
Those eligible for VA benefits are reminded that there is often considerable delay between the time benefits are requested
and when checks begin to arrive. It is necessary, therefore, to make financial arrangements in order to prevent financial difficulty
during the intervening period before checks commence. Please call the Veterans Advisor at Auburn Hills (please refer to the
Campus Directory) for further details.
