OCC Ramps Up Aid for Laid-off Workers

Oakland Community College is moving quickly to provide educational services to workers affected by the recent round of automotive layoffs.

A single point of contact has been set-up at the college – the OCC Worker Transition Helpline – managed by OCC’s Economic and Workforce Development (EWD) 248-232-4000.

EWD staff members will guide you through the services available at OCC’s five college campuses.  Information such as career center services, counseling information, occupational programs, certificates, short-term training programs, links to high-demand/growth industries, development programs and new-student orientations.

The Call Center is currently available during regular business hours and staff will be returning calls throughout the holidays.
