Bridges to Success, a High School-Sponsored College Readiness Camp
Prepare Your Student for College
The Bridges to Success program is a high school-sponsored, 3-week summer program for rising 9th-grade, 10th and 11th-grade students. This summer program is focused on college readiness and career planning and will take place from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. from July 14 - 31 at OCC's Auburn Hills campus.
Students can expect to:
- Participate in two courses designed to prepare them for college
- Have breakfast and lunch provided
- Explore diverse career paths
- Have the opportunity to earn up to four college credits
Once a student has completed the program, they will:
- Be gifted a fully stocked back-to-school bags
- Receive a special gift tailored to support them in their educational journey
Courses Your Student Will Take
ASC 1070: College Success Skills | This course is designed to improve students' academic performance. Students will practice strategies for test taking, studying, note taking, memory enhancement and time management. They will be given opportunities to apply these strategies to current coursework and other situations.
CNS 1150: Career Planning | This interactive career planning class will encourage students to explore their abilities, interests, skills, values and other aspects of getting to know themselves. They will learn career decision-making and goal-setting processes while using current technology for career research and job search skills. Students can expect to learn how to apply this knowledge in an ever-changing world.
Complete these forms by April 25, 2025
- Remember to add ASC 1070: College Success Skills and CNS 1150: Career Planning to part 2 of the FERPA form and under course name in the registration form and email to secondary@oaklandcc.edu. NOTE: Ensure your high school counselor's signature is included in the FERPA form.
- In addition, please complete the Media Consent Form & Release for Minor Student/Children form.
- Complete the Summer Bridges to Success Registration form
- Apply to Oakland Community College as a Dual Enrollment Student for Summer 2025. Please return the completed packet to your counselor.
If registrants exceed capacity, students will be placed on a waitlist.
