Get Your Student College Ready

Oakland Community College (OCC) is offering a K-12 dual enrollment program for high schoolers to enroll in a FREE virtual college readiness initiative. This is a 12-week program on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school beginning Jan. 7, 2025.

1. Apply to OCC 
2. Fill out the registration forms:

  • Dual Enrollment School Payment & FERPA Authorization Form
  • Media Consent Form and Release for Minors
  • OCC Student and Parent Guardian Release Form
  • College Readiness Initiative Registration Form

3. Return all forms to your high school counselor by November 30, 2024..

Free Chromebrook and Supplies

• Receive a FREE Chromebook upon program completion
• Chromebooks will be available for loan during the program along with access to OCC’s hotspot lending program

Career Exploration

• Earn up to three college credits
• Explore new career paths and college programs
• Prepare for the future

College Readiness

• Apply practical strategies to improve their academic performance 
• Acquire essential skills for a smooth transition to college

Further Personal Empowerment

• Participate in virtual seminars 

Dual Enrollment Success Coach

• Be paired with OCC’s Dual Enrollment Success Coach, who is available to guide them through any questions or challenges, including connecting them with resources based on their individual needs

College Bound Brunch

• Will be invited to attend the College Bound Brunch to explore further dual enrollment and full-time student opportunities at OCC

College Ready Success Fest

• Celebrate their achievements and receive recognition for their commitment in taking the steps to prepare themselves better for higher education
