EMS Academy

The Oakland Community College EMS Program offers state approved initial training and continuing education courses from the Emergency First Responder to Paramedic levels. Students that successfully complete an initial training course and the clinical requirements will be eligible to take the National Registry examination for licensure in the State of Michigan. The Oakland EMS Academy's continuing education classes are offered in both lecture and practical formats which are compliant with the State of Michigan’s continuing education requirements for maintaining your license.

Located on Oakland Community College’s Auburn Hills Campus, the EMS Academy is able to offer the most progressive and up to date training available on the state of the art CREST site. Practical instruction takes place in a bank, convenience store, motel and furnished houses. Lectures are conducted utilizing the latest in instructional presentation technology including video conferencing as wireless internet capabilities.

EMS Enrollment and Orientation

The Oakland Community College Paramedic program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
