Chancellor’s Scholarships - Adult & Alternative Education

ON-LINE APPLICATION|DEADLINE EXTENDED TO JULY 1, 2020

To apply online for the Chancellor's Scholarship, you must first complete the  OCC admission application and then complete the OCC Student Online Scholarships (SOS) Application at Academic Works.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA  (Information updated 04.30.20)

  • Must be an Oakland County resident who will be graduating from an adult/alternative public or private high school.
  • Must graduate by June 30, 2020 prior to college attendance. 
  • Must have an Oakland Community College admission application on file. Apply for admission prior to submitting your scholarship application. Include your Social Security Number on your OCC admission application.
  • Must include an official high school transcript showing fall 2019 first-quarter/semester grades and cumulative (non-weighted) GPA with scholarship application. Must have a GPA of 2.5.
  • Must take the OCC English placement (self-directed through your MyOCC account) by June 1, 2020 (new date).
  • Must declare a major, enroll for at least 12 credit hours for both fall, and winter semesters following high school graduation.
  • If you withdraw from school or do not attend classes, the scholarship is forfeited.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD CRITERIA

  • Must see an OCC educational counselor by June 15, 2020 and complete an Academic Plan of Study for the Fall 2020 semester. Students may register for ONLY the classes listed on their Academic Plan of Study. Submit your Academic Plan of Study to your campus Financial Aid office.
  • Must schedule and attend a follow-up educational counseling appointment by November 13, 2020 and complete an Academic Plan of Study for the Winter 2021 semester. Students may register for ONLY the classes listed on their Academic Plan of Study. Submit your Academic Plan of Study to your campus Financial Aid office.
  • Students must attain a minimum GPA of 2.0 and complete at least 67% of their credits in the fall semester to be eligible for the winter Chancellor’s Scholarship award.
  • If a student does not complete the above criteria, the scholarship may be forfeited for fall and/or winter semesters.

SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT

The amount of the scholarship is $3,500 ($1,750 for the fall semester, $1,750 for the winter semester). This scholarship is non-renewable; good for only the first academic year following high school graduation.
