The following steps will guide you through the process of becoming a student at OCC.
Exception: College Guest Students
You will be prompted to log in to create a new password. Be sure to set up your SECURITY
QUESTIONS - this will avoid having to call in to reset your password. Once logged
in to MyOCC, sign in to Student Email to ACTIVATE your required OCC EMAIL account.
Check your email for important news & updates.
STEP 3: NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION - ONLINE
Students new to OCC are required to complete the New Student Orientation before registration. You must have an OCC ID and account to access the link. Go to MyOCC, log in, and select New Student Orientation. After you have completed the survey, remember to click "Mark Course Completed" and print your certificate to finish the orientation.
STEP 4: COMPLETE YOUR FAFSA (if applicable)
Award letter and status of your application may be found under Financial Profile on MyOCC. Check for important deadlines.
STEP 5: PLACEMENT TESTING
If you are attending OCC for the first time, take any required assessment tests for
placement purposes. Be sure to visit the Academic Support Center for assistance.
*SAT or ACT scores may be utilized.
Students whose first language is not English are required to take the MTELP.
STEP 6: MEET WITH A COUNSELOR
Make the most of your counseling appointment. Complete your application and placement
testing before coming in!
Call for an appointment with a counselor at one of the campus' or set up a ZOOM meeting!
NOTE: STEPS 1 - 5 SHOULD BE COMPLETED BEFORE YOU MEET WITH A COUNSELOR
STEP 7: REGISTER FOR AND SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE ONLINE LEARNING READINESS COURSE
*There is no cost for taking the Online Learning Readiness Course.
Posting of passing grade takes a minimum of 3 business days.
- Log into MyOCC, select the Student menu, and then click the link Register for Online Learning Readiness Course.
- Follow the remaining steps being sure to Submit.
- Wait 1 business day for your enrollment to be added to the D2L system.
STEP 10: GET YOUR RAIDER ONE CARD
Your official OCC Student ID can be picked up at the OCC Bookstore or mailed to you.
STEP 11: BUY YOUR BOOKS
