Participating Majors

Eligibility Requirements:

To participate students must be currently enrolled in courses and pursuing a certificate or degree in one of the participating academic programs. For technical majors a minimum GPA of 2.0/4.0 and the completion of twenty-seven credit hours which includes nine credit hours of core courses, nine credit hours of supportive courses, and nine credit hours of general education courses. For other majors the completion of specific classes varies for each academic program. Student interns must have the learning objectives approved by the Faculty Supervisor and the Program Coordinator. Students transferring to OCC and wishing to participate in the Internship Program must first successfully complete twelve credit hours at OCC prior to completing an application for the Internship & Cooperative Education Program. To participate students must be enrolled in one of the listed academic programs that offer an internship/co-op experience.

F1 Student participation in Internship/Co-op: 

All OCC students who have F-1 student visas are required to consult with their campus international student advisor with regards to the CPT and OPT immigration requirements to participate in the Internship and Cooperative Education Program.

The application process:

Interested students should:

  • Meet with their Program Coordinator. This is a mandatory meeting.
  • Upon approval from the Program Coordinator, students should attend an Internship/Co-op Informational Meeting. Contact the Internship Coordinator for dates.
  • Prepare a resume to be reviewed by the Internship/Co-op Coordinator prior to applying for a position.
  • Once a position is found notify the Program Coordinator to receive approval to register.
