OCC will hold an Engineering and Skilled Trades Open House on Thursday, May 4 from 5-8 p.m. on its Auburn Hills Campus to provide high school and returning adult students and guests with an overview of the College’s numerous trades-related certificate and degree programs.
During the event, students, parents and guests can view classrooms and labs; attend program information sessions and demonstrations; participate in hands-on activities; learn about apprenticeships and short-term training; talk with OCC faculty, staff and current students; speak with employers in industries such as automotive and manufacturing; and meet representatives from popular transfer universities.
The OCC academic programs featured at the event will include:

- Collision Repair
- Computer Aided Design
- Construction Management
- Electrical
- Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
- Heavy Equipment Repair
- Machine Tool
- Mechatronics
- Pre-Engineering

- Welding and Fabrication
“This is a great chance for attendees to get a better understanding of the training and degree programs we have available in the engineering and skilled trades areas and the potential career opportunities that await them once they earn an OCC certificate or associate degree,” said Joseph Petrosky, OCC’s associate provost of Academics and Workforce.
Attendees will also have an opportunity to meet with representatives from companies and popular transfer colleges and universities, including AIS Construction Equipment, Applied Manufacturing Technologies, Fairmont Sign Company, FANUC, Rockford Construction Company, Williams International, Ferris State University, Great Lakes Maritime Academy, Lawrence Technological University, Northern Michigan University and Wayne State University.
