The Career Development Office, also known as Placement Services, serves as OCC’s comprehensive career office and is the primary point-of-contact for employers seeking to recruit our students from all academic programs. This partnership enables our students and community job seekers to discover rewarding career opportunities and assists employers in finding qualified candidates.

About Our Services

College Central Network (CCN)

Our online employer services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  You must register your organization with our office prior to accessing these services. Once your registration is reviewed, if it is approved, you will receive an email including a link to activate your account. 

Once approved, you will be able to:

  • Post jobs targeted to Oakland Community College students, alumni, community residents.
  • Search résumés of our students, alumni, community residents.
  • Search career portfolios that have been prepared by our students, alumni, community residents.

Federal Work-Study Program

The Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program is a need-based financial aid program in which students may be employed by certain agencies, private nonprofits and for-profit organizations. The goal of this program is to provide students a hands-on learning experience, outside the classroom, while providing additional resources for nonprofit/government agencies to expand their services.  Your participation in this program will increase your administrative savings by receiving 50% - 75% reimbursement on wages paid.

Internship & Coop's

The Internship and Cooperative Education Program is an academic program where classroom study is combined with career related work experience. These real world opportunities are offered through partnerships with business, industry and governmental organizations.
