Business Management

Business Management, Evening Cohort

Ready to put dinner on the table? So are we! Spend your Wednesday evenings on our Royal Oak campus to earn your associate degree in business in accelerated, 7.5-week terms. Two classes each Wednesday, with a dinner break that includes the food.

A Carefully Planned Program

Balance job, family and school—and still graduate on time. Here’s the plan:

  • Two years of Wednesday evenings in class
  • Learn all the aspects of managing a business
  • Work alongside the same classmates every term (your cohort)
  • Share a weekly meal (provided) with your cohort
  • Walk away with your degree in hand—exactly as planned

Enjoy simplified enrollment and registration. We register you each term for the next round of classes. You don’t have to worry about planning; we’ve got you covered.

Wednesday Nights in the Classroom

Wednesdays may be intense. Your first class meets at 6 p.m. Eat dinner with your classmates during the 7:45 to 8:15 p.m. break. Then, your second class meets until 10.

Less than two months later (7.5 weeks), move on to new classes — same classroom, same time, same classmates, even the same dinner break. It’s like clockwork.

Study on Your Own the Rest of the Week

There will be homework. You learn by practicing, by reading more, by listening more, and by trying your hand at new styles of communication and new ways of thinking about day-to-day business challenges.

You will be a full-time student but only have to commit to one evening of class each week. You’re in control the rest of the week — and OCC’s faculty, tutors and counselors are here if you need some help.

Reserve Your Spot in the Next Cohort

Each cohort has room for only 30 students, so make your reservation for dinner and a degree soon.

Attend an information session to claim your seat at the table. Ask your questions, make your decision, and let us know you want in. We’ll take it from there.

OCC counselors can also walk you through financial aid steps, connecting you with scholarships and grant programs to help you pay for your degree.

Job Market Outlook

Did you know?

Research suggests that cohort students are more likely to succeed and graduate on time.

Choose Your Cohort Start

You will take the same classes in the same sequence as your cohort. If you have prior college credit for one of the planned classes, you may not need to take it with your cohort. Talk it over with your OCC counselor.

Associate Degree

This is the only structured, cohort-based associate in applied science (AAS) degree in Business Management at OCC. If you would like a less-structured program that you put together with the help of a counselor, consider the traditional Business Management AAS.

If you’re focused on earning a bachelor’s degree next, consider the Business Administration AA, which is designed with transferring in mind.
