In an ever-more visual and digital job market, a picture today is likely worth a lot more than 1,000 words. The Oakland Community College program in photographic technology can help you add value to images by sharpening your critical eye and visual skills, either through an associate in applied science degree or a certificate in photo technology.
The program provides professional and technical experience in still black and white, color and digital photography. The emphasis is on developing the skills for employment as a photographer, photographic assistant, digital re-toucher/archivist or lab technician in business, industry, advertising, journalism, medical institutions, studios and schools. Graduates also will be prepared to start their own businesses as self-employed professional photographers or retailers.
