Chancellor’s Scholarships Honor Academic Excellence

Oakland County's Graduating High School Seniors

If you’re a high school senior in Oakland County and have a strong academic record, you may qualify for a $4,000 Chancellor’s Scholarship at OCC.

The Chancellor’s Scholarship is a one-year scholarship with a renewable 2nd year if students meet the renewal requirements. The Chancellor’s Scholarship can be used for books, supplies, and other direct educational expenses awarded up to $2000.00 ($1,000.00 Fall & $1,000.00 Winter Semesters) per academic year, not to exceed the OCC Cost of Attendance.

To qualify, you must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

    The deadline to apply is April 5, 2025.

     

    How to Apply for the Chancellor’s Scholarship

    1. Apply for admission to OCC. Be sure to include your Social Security number on your application.

    2. Wait until you receive an email from OCC saying you’ve been admitted. This takes two business days or less.

    3. Fill out the application for the Chancellor’s Scholarship online at OCC’s Scholarship Universe. With your application, upload an official high school transcript that shows your grades for the fall 2023 first quarter/semester and your cumulative GPA.

    1st Year Eligibility Criteria

    • Must be an Oakland County High School Graduate/home schooled graduate/Adult Alternative Education Graduate.
    • Must have a 3.0 High School GPA based on fall 2024 Grades.
    • Must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  Students who cannot submit a FAFSA must provide a statement and documentation to Student Financial Resources and Scholarships (SFRS).
    • Must apply for the Michigan Achievement/Community College Guarantee Scholarship.
    • Meet with the Chancellor’s Scholarship academic advisor to declare a major and develop an Academic Plan of Study. Register for fall 2025 classes.

    2nd Year Renewal Chancellor’s Scholarship Agreement

    • Must complete 30 credits hours per academic year
    • Must maintain satisfactory academic progress of 67% and a 3.0 GPA to renew for year two.
    • Must meet with the Chancellor’s Scholarship academic advisor before registering for Winter Semester classes.
    • Must earn a certificate or Associate Degree before leaving or transferring to another higher education institution.

    Upload a copy of your high school transcript showing fall 2024 grades and cumulative Grade Point Average.

     

    If you fail to meet any of these requirements, the scholarship will be forfeited.
