OCC offers a range of scholarships and funding through programs like the Michigan Community College Guaranteeand Michigan Reconnect, making this summer and fall an excellent time to start your learning journey and earn credentials.

OCC is offering a series of virtual “Paying for College” information sessions to help students understand the variety of college funding options. Register online.   

OCC features several course formats, including in-person, fully online, and hybrid courses - a combination of in-person and online for maximum flexibility. Class schedules for summer and fall semesters and registration information can be found on the College’s registration page. New students are encouraged to visit Admissions  for information on applying to OCC.  

Guest students from other Colleges and universities, home for the summer or looking to add credits with online other flexible course formats, can get started by checking out OCC’s  Guest Students  page before registering for classes.  

Dual enrollment for high school students is growing at OCC. Summer is a great time to take college pre-reqs, language, art courses and more. Information is found on OCC’s website.

Summer 2025 class schedule available online Feb. 21; priority registration opens March 3; open registration begins March 4, classes begin May 5. 

Fall 2025 class schedule available online March 14; priority registration opens March 24; open registration begins March 25, and classes begin August 25  

Variety of Ways Available to Help Pay for Tuition  

OCC offers one of the lowest in-district tuition rates in Michigan with a variety of one-time grants, government financial aid programs and free scholarships available for OCC students for the summer and fall semesters:  

  • Summer Momentum Scholarship–Students who have completed 16 or more credit hours at OCC, with a C average or better, are encouraged to apply for OCC’s  Summer Momentum Scholarship, which provides up to $766 towards summer tuition.  
  • Chancellor’s Scholarship–2025 Oakland County high school graduates may qualify for a Chancellor’s Scholarship  at OCC. The Chancellor’s Scholarship is a one-year scholarship offering up to $2000 per academic year that can be used for books, supplies and other direct educational expenses. The scholarship can be renewed for a second year at OCC if students meet the renewal requirements. 
  • OCC Scholarship Universe–Students are encouraged to apply to Scholarship Universe, a scholarship-matching tool that connects students to internal and external scholarship opportunities. For more information visit  Scholarship Universe.  
  • FAFSA –All college students are encouraged to apply for college financial aid through the U.S. Department of Education by completing the  Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Applying for FAFSA opens up additional opportunities for grants, scholarships and more.  
  • Michigan Community College Guarantee- Graduating high school seniors are eligible to earn a skill certificate or degree at their local community college tuition-free just by filling out the new and simplified FAFSA. Visit Community College Guarantee for more details.  
  • Michigan Reconnect - OCC, in partnership with the Michigan Reconnect program, is offering free in-district tuition to qualifying Michigan residents at least 21 years of age who want to earn an associate degree or certificate. Visit Michigan Reconnect for more information.
