Advanced Report Writing & Documentation for Law Enforcement
Course Description:
This course is taught by a 20-year law enforcement veteran, who will show students the proper way of collecting information and how to conduct an on-scene investigation. Students will also learn how to take complete notes and formatting them into a first-person report containing all pertinent information and elements needed for a successful prosecution. This course is highly recommended for new or veteran officers looking to improve their report writing.

- The Importance of Report Writing
- How Reports reflect on you as an officer
- Formatting a Good Report
- The Make-up of a Good Report
- Writing for Prosecution
- Breaking down basic police reports and taking them to the next level
Students will write a report during class. A lap top computer is recommended but not required.
