Police K9 Legal Update
Instructor:
For thirty-six years John Peters has been practicing police litigation in the state and federal courts, including at the appellate level. He has written and instructed on issues of liability and risk management for police agencies which operate canine units and demonstrates how proper policies, training and records directly relate to the liability aspect.
Course Description:
This 4-hour course is designed to teach Police K9 Handlers the legal aspects of Police K9 work. It will discuss legal issues dealing with detector work, suspect apprehension, tracking, training issues, at-home care, legal responsibilities of the employer and search and seizure issues.
