Red Dot Optic System Instructor (Handgun)

Course Description:
This course provides attendees with the knowledge and benefits of implementing the Red Dot sighting system (RDS) on a pistol. Attendees will learn the skills needed to instruct, administer and supervise the use of Red Dot equipped pistols. Techniques to teach shooters “how to find the dot” as well as using the dot to evaluate shooter errors will also be highlighted.
Requirements: MUST be a current firearms instructor to attend.

Required Equipment:
- RDS pistol and holster
- Flashlight
- Ball cap
- Eye and ear protection
- Your pistol should be equipped with iron sights visible through the Red Dot System
The Oakland Police Academy will provide the ammunition for this course.
