Chancellor Provenzano
OCC Chancellor Peter Provenzano, Jr. was appointed to the Michigan Education Trust Board of Directors by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

In his new role on the MET, OCC Chancellor Peter Provenzano represents community college presidents as a nominee from the Michigan Community College Association (MCCA), where he also serves as MCCA chair. Provenzano has served as OCC’s Chancellor since 2018. He joined the College in 2014 as chief financial officer.

The Michigan Education Trust (MET) is Michigan's 529 prepaid tuition savings program. It allows parents, grandparents, businesses and others to pay for future education at today's price. In addition to Provenzano’s appointment to the MET Board, his leadership roles also include serving on the boards of Automation Alley, the Detroit Economic Club, and Michigan Workforce Training and Education Collaborative. Provenzano’s state board appointment began Feb. 10, 2025 and expires Dec. 31, 2027. He succeeds MET Board Director Charles Lepper, whose term expired.

This diversity enables the Council to better analyze and improve systems and services within the state and ensure that the voices of people with developmental disabilities and their families are heard.
