Policy Statement

Students sponsored by their employer and pursuing only a certificate program or individual courses are not required to take placement tests or meet with a counselor during their onboarding to the College. These sponsored students include apprentices (whether registered with the Department of Labor or not). Coordination of courses and certificate with the employer and student will be done at the department level with the Apprentice Coordinator. Should sponsored students subsequently decide to pursue an associate degree after or during their certificate program, they will be subject to placement testing at that time.
