College Owned Vehicles

College vehicles are to be used for college business only. When not in use, vehicles will be kept on College property. Unless a vehicle is specifically assigned to an individual on an on-going basis the vehicle may not be used for personal activities. All individuals who operate a college vehicle must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and observe all applicable motor vehicle laws and ordinances. Such person(s) must immediately notify Human Resources if their driver’s license has been suspended, removed, or has limitations otherwise. Failure to report a citation/violation and/or an accident involving a college vehicle will result in a loss of College driving privileges or other disciplinary action.
The driver is also responsible for the security, safety checks and over-all operation of the vehicle. Operators are required to maintain, clean and provide general maintenance on all vehicles he or she operates. Operators are required to report all mechanical problems to their supervisor. In addition, smoking is not allowed in any college vehicle at any time. All fleet vehicles must be properly marked with the College logo and appropriate identification numbers as assigned by Purchasing and Auxiliary Services. Registration and proof of insurance should be kept in the glove compartment of the vehicle at all times. Purchasing and Auxiliary Services will maintain all fleet documentation such as, titles, insurance and current inventory.
