General Application Details

Applying for Michigan Works! Funding

The majority of students apply for funding. Most of the training programs have funding available. However, the Mammography Technologist training program is not eligible for funding. Additional information about the required testing, eligibility requirements, and documentation is listed below. To initiate the process, you’ll connect with one of the six Oakland County Michigan Works! offices. Additional details about eligibility requirements and the documents needed.

Applying with OCC – Paying out of Pocket

If you don’t meet the eligibility requirements with Michigan Works!, you can pay out of pocket. A Self Payment & Payment Authorization form needs to be completed before starting the training program. Tuition needs to be paid in full and refunds are not granted. Contact an OCC representative for more details. The payment authorization form should be submitted by the application date. The payment should be submitted by the application deadline listed on the individual training web page. An exception to this deadline may be considered. However, it will depend if seats are still available, if vaccines can be completed in time (allied health programs only), and if materials can be ordered in time. Additional details about paying out of pocket.

Healthcare Requirements

Due to the nature of the work performed in the healthcare facilities and hospitals, they have requirements beyond OCC’s control. We understand that these requirements may not be suited for everyone. If you don’t think you’ll be able to pass these requirements, we encourage you to consider one of our other short-term training programs in manufacturing or technology.
