2020 Social Justice & Civic Engagement Scholarship

The 2020 Social Justice and Civic Engagement Endowed Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Mr. Ahmaud Arbery (1994-2020), Ms. Breonna Taylor (1993-2020) and Mr. George Floyd (1973-2020), and to commemorate the resurgence of social justice awareness and activism occasioned by their untimely deaths. This scholarship recognizes OCC students who demonstrate a commitment to social justice and/or engage civically to better their community. Ultimately, it is hoped that recipients of the 2020 Social Justice and Civic Engagement Endowed Scholarship will continue to champion social justice causes and deploy their education in service to community uplift.
