Our Mission 

The Office of Institutional Standards and Practices is dedicated to fostering a campus where respect, integrity and growth are central. We provide guidance, resources, and support to help students and employees address challenges, advance their development, and empower individuals to reach their full potential. By establishing clear standards and practices, we ensure that everyone in the College community is supported in their journey toward success. 

How We Support You 

Our office is here to assist both students and employees by ensuring that institutional standards and practices guide everyone toward achieving their personal and professional goals. 

• For Employees | We provide consultations, resources and programming to help staff navigate workplace challenges and uphold institutional standards. Our services promote best practices that encourage a positive and productive work setting, helping employees excel in their roles and responsibilities. 
  
  
• For Students | We offer programming, resources and direct assistance to support students in meeting academic standards, overcoming challenges and maximizing their educational opportunities. By reinforcing clear expectations and standards, we empower students to succeed academically and personally. 

Our Core Functions 

Developing and Implementing Standards and Practices 
We develop and implement standards that establish clear expectations for both students and employees. These standards guide behavior, academic performance and professional conduct, ensuring that everyone operates under a common framework of fairness, accountability and respect.

Coordinating Resources & Support Systems 
We ensure that all members of the campus community can utilize the resources and support systems they need, all of which are aligned with institutional standards. By coordinating these services, we help remove obstacles and make it easier for students and employees to thrive.

Engagement & Culture 
We design and manage programs that actively engage the campus community while promoting inclusion, mental, emotional and professional well-being. Rooted in institutional standards, these initiatives reinforce positive behaviors that contribute to individual growth. The office ensures that both academic and student support programs align with the College’s mission, strategic goals and accreditation standards. 

Identifying and Overcoming Challenges to Success 
We focus on identifying and addressing challenges—whether they stem from standards, practices, or processes—that may hinder the success of students and employees.  Our office takes proactive steps to ensure everyone has the tools and support necessary to reach their full potential.

Collaborating Across Leadership 
We collaborate with academic, administrative and student services leadership to ensure alignment with the institution’s mission and vision. This partnership enhances efforts to create a shared commitment to the standards that guide the College.

Evaluating Standards and Practices Through Data 
To ensure our standards and practices are effective, we continuously assess their impact using data. This allows us to refine and adjust our strategies to meet the needs of the College community while maintaining the integrity of institutional expectations.
