Oakland Community College Seeks Board of Trustee Applicants

Oakland Community College (OCC) is seeking applications for the current vacant position on the Board of Trustees (the Board). An individual will be appointed to fill the vacant position through Dec. 31, 2026, and will be replaced by the individual elected to the position based upon the Nov. 3, 2026 election results, to begin on Jan. 1, 2027.  

Board of Trustees

The vacancy will fill the seat held by Trustee Susan Gibson who submitted her resignation effective Feb. 3, 2025, for her term ending Dec. 31, 2026. Gibson’s term began January, 2021. 

Interested persons must submit an application at oaklandcc.edu/about/board-of-trustees/application which includes interview questions for the Board of Trustees position no later than Feb. 13, 2025, at 5 p.m. Completed applications can be submitted directly via the website. 

Following a review of submitted applications, the Board will schedule interviews with selected candidates at a Special Board of Trustees public meeting. It is possible that all of candidates for the Board vacancy may not be interviewed.
