OCC Chancellor Scholarship provides up to $4,000 for educational expenses to qualifying students in addition to Michigan Community College Guarantee funding
High school seniors and graduates of adult and alternative education programs in Oakland County who have a strong academic record may qualify for up to a $4,000 over two academic years with the Chancellor’s Scholarship at Oakland Community College.

To qualify, high school seniors must have a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) based on Fall, 2024 grades and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). By completing the FAFSA, students are eligible to receive the Michigan Achievement/Community College Guarantee Scholarship in addition to the Chancellor's Scholarship funds.
To receive the second-year renewal of the $2000 Chancellor’s Scholarship funds, students must complete 30 credits hours per academic year at OCC, maintain satisfactory academic progress (including a 3.0 GPA or better) and earn a certificate or Associate Degree before leaving or transferring to another higher education institution.
“The great thing about the Chancellor’s Scholarship is that the $2000 for educational expenses at OCC each academic year can be used to supplement the funds students receive from the Michigan Community College Guarantee program,” said OCC Chancellor Peter Provenzano, Jr. “That combination of scholarship funds can really help students minimize debt while they are earning a certificate or degree.”
The application deadline to apply for the OCC Chancellor’s Scholarship is April 5, 2025.
OCC’s Financial Aid Dept is holding an online Chancellor’s Scholarship Information Session on March 7 at 7 p.m. The online session will help answer questions about who qualifies and how to apply.
