The M-TECSM Testing Center offers a large classroom setting, with individual cubicles for each candidate. The Testing Center is located at Oakland Community College in the M-TECSM building on the Auburn Hills campus. The M-TEC Testing CenterSM  is conveniently located off of M-59 and Squirrel Road. 

Testing Services Available:

ACT® WorkKeys

ACT® WorkKeys is a job skills assessment system that helps employers select, hire, train, develop, and retain a high-performance workforce. This series of tests measures foundational and soft skills and offers specialized assessments to target institutional needs. The following computer based tests are offered:

To Register For the Test: Email MTECTestCenter or call (248) 232-4168.

RESULTS: You will get a copy of your test score(s), which will include your level score and scale score at the end of testing.

Test Fee: $25 per test assessment, $65 for all three (payable by debit and credit card, cashiers check or money order on the day of the testing).

On Test Day: Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to test start time with a government-issued, non-expired photo ID and your payment.

Proctoring Services

The M-TECSM Testing Center offers testing services for students of other colleges and universities, individuals, businesses and industry, and groups. We administer both traditional (paper/pencil) and online tests.  Call (248) 232-4168 to verify that your exams have arrived before you come in to test.

The M-TECSM Testing Center provides the best possible environment for testing. Our center is secure, we are away from the main campus hustle, we have ample parking and we have video monitoring of the testing area.

Test Fee: $50.00 for the first hour and $20.00 each additional hour (payable by debit and credit card, cashiers check or money order on the day of the testing).

Pearson VUE Authorized Test Center (PVTC)

Pearson VUE Authorized Test Centers are privately owned, third-party testing facilities which provide on-site, on-demand testing for certification and professional licensure exams.

To Schedule a Test:

  • Visit Pearson VUE and select the relevant test program from the Test Taker Services section
  • Next, select 'Schedule a Test' and complete the necessary fields
  • Upon confirming the booking, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from Pearson VUE. At a minimum, this confirmation will contain information such as the time, date and location of your test, including directions to the test center

On Test Day:

Please arrive at the M-TECSM PVTC test center 15-30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. The amount of time you are asked to arrive at the center before your scheduled appointment time differs for each program. You will receive a confirmation email with program-specific information.

When candidates arrive for an exam, they go through a standard admissions process. Candidates are asked to provide two forms of identification, to agree in writing to a set of exam rules and to sign a log sheet. In most cases, your photo and signature will be digitally captured as they would appear on your results report. Some exam sponsors may have other identification or check-in requirements. Typically, you are asked to bring two forms of identification, including one government-issued photo identification. Some test programs may have additional requirements. The items you are asked to bring differs for each test program. You will receive a confirmation email with program-specific information.
