Length of Visit

The length of your appointment will be longer than in a private practice. Because we are a teaching facility, the students' work is being continuously evaluated by our professional instructors. You may expect an appointment to last up to three-and-a-half hours. A number of appointments may be necessary to complete your treatments.

Please arrive promptly for your appointment. If you must cancel, let us know at least 24 hours in advance.

Your First Visit

On your first visit you will be required to fill out a patient history form. If you are taking any medications we ask that you bring the prescriptions with you – our students are required to look up all medications.

When you make your appointment please tell us if you have any of the following:

  • Heart conditions
  • Recent heart attack
  • Recent bypass surgery
  • Diabetes
  • Hepatitis
  • Implants
  • Stroke

Further information may be required in order to properly handle your appointment and treatment. Due to advanced physical, mental or periodontal conditions some patients may not be accepted to the student clinical program.

In such cases referrals to the appropriate facility will be provided.
