CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

A variety of employment opportunities exists for dental hygienists: treating patients in general dental or specialty offices, public health settings, hospital and long term care facilities, armed forces, consumer advocates, dental hygiene teaching and research. There are also excellent programs that offer baccalaureate and graduate degrees in dental hygiene.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Job market projections are excellent, but as in any occupation, opportunities can be influenced by economic fluctuations. Current dental hygiene graduates working full-time can anticipate initial annual income of $45,000 - 50,000 depending on the area, responsibilities, type of practice and general economic climate.
